Alejandro Cancio clinched his second victory in three years in Rally de San Juan, in a race which will be reminded as one of the most breathtaking race finish in years in Rally Argentino history.

However Cancio was not the only one to celebrate in RA 9th round, since his team-mate, Nicolás Madero and Marcos Ligato, complete the three podium positions to help his fellow to reduce the gap with series' leader Federico Villagra to 16 points, with only one round remaining.

After twelve special stages and 120 competitive kilometers, Cancio complete the race in 1.08.12,2 beating Madero by 4,8s, and his other Mitsubishi team-mate Ligato, who came 9,6s adrift and matching the third position with Villagra. Finally Ligato reach the last podium position for taking the opening stage early on Saturday.

The second run through the San Juan's Hippodrome SSS, Sunday's last stage, was decisive for Cancio's wishes since he needed to score at least five points more than Villagra, who was third in the race, and first in the second leg standings, and a step away to sealing his seventh title. Nevertheless Ligato and Madero run flat out the last lap to surpass Villagra in both boards, and to give a hopeful Cancio another chance for the taking the title.

Further back in the overall classification, Villagra's team-mate, Luciano Bernardi and Sebastián Beltrán, could do nothing to help his team-leader and finalizing fifth and sixth. Certainly it was not the best weekend for Subaru's drivers since Gabriel Pozzo only managed to reach the seventh positions, while last Rally de Salta winner, Claudio Menzi, was excluded from the competition for using Tyre-Pando, compound which is not permitted.

In the N4 LIght Class, Federico Bassi took the victory while Nicolás Carlomagno increase the difference over Gerónimo Padilla to eleven points, whereas in the Súper R, Roberto Castro claimed his fourth win an prevent Sebastian Abramian from claiming the title. In the 2WD Clasess, Jorge Angeloni took the victory while Omar Kovacevich came up with his second success in the N2, to arise as the new series leader.
